This spectacular belt buckle is from award winning Ottawa artisan, Carlos Eagle. The cornrow inlay consists of blue turquoise, green serpentine, red spiny oyster shell, black jet, and very light pink rhodochrosite. The gemstones are secure on a foundation of very heavy gauge vintage sterling silver. This museum quality belt buckle will be a cherished addition to your collection of fine vintage Native American jewelry.
Carlos’ Eagle's career as a jeweler began in the 1970’s, inspired by his mother, who was an artist of Ottawa/ Chippewa descent. He is completely self-taught. Unlike many jewelers, he is both a lapidary and a silversmith, and fabricates all of his jewelry by himself. Nothing is cast or manufactured. He is an Elder in the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians
